Baseball card collectors often talk about the biggest sales in the hobby, but the numbers become even more interesting when you look at the highest recorded sale for each of today’s top MLB stars. In this article, we compare the single highest confirmed trading card sale for some of the biggest names in baseball heading into the 2026 season.

The order of the players in this list is based on ESPN’s Top 100 MLB Players ranking heading into the 2026 season. For each player, we identified the highest publicly known sale of a trading card featuring that player.

To keep the data consistent, only cards featuring the individual player were included. Multi-player cards were excluded because they can distort the true market value of a single athlete. The results provide a fascinating snapshot of how the trading card market values today’s MLB superstars.
