Graded card case buying guide

How to Choose a Graded Trading Card Display Case

Start with the slab's grading company, orientation, thickness, and overall dimensions. Then compare capacity, shelf spacing, tabletop or wall placement, materials, UV protection, access, and security.

Measure the complete graded slab, including its label and thickest edge. PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, and specialty holders can differ in height, width, and thickness. Compare those measurements with the case's shelf spacing, interior depth, holder grooves, and compatible-item details.

Next, decide how many graded cards should remain visible and where the display will sit. The collection includes tabletop cases for one or three slabs, wall-mounted hardwood and acrylic cabinets for larger collections, and cabinets with detachable standing legs for tables or card shows. UV protection, front-panel material, back-panel choices, locks, mounting hardware, and finish options vary by model.

Confirm the Slab Type and Size

Choose a case compatible with the grading companies in your collection. Measure unusually thick, oversized, or specialty holders before ordering.

Choose the Right Capacity

Current options range from single-card and three-card tabletop cases to multi-card cabinets that hold larger graded collections. Choose enough capacity for the slabs you want visible without overcrowding the shelves.

Compare Shelf Spacing and Depth

Wall cabinets use different shelf spacing and interior depths. Compare the slab's complete dimensions with the available clearance, especially when mixing grading companies or holder styles.

Choose Tabletop or Wall Placement

Single-card and three-card cases create compact tabletop displays. Wall-mounted cabinets preserve shelf space, while standing-leg cabinets can be placed on a table and selected models can also mount on a wall.

Compare Materials and UV Protection

Options include real glass with a hardwood base, premium hardwood cabinets with clear acrylic fronts, and fully acrylic displays. Selected cabinets have 98% or 100% UV protection, while the real-glass single-card case offers 50% regular glass or 99% conservation glass.

Review Access and Security

Multi-card cabinets include options with locks, while the three-card acrylic case uses strong magnetic lid closures. The real-glass single-card case uses a removable lid. Choose the access method that fits how often you rotate slabs.
